Yesterday in the pouring rain we walked from Llangadog station into Llangadog to watch the Tour of Britain. We expected loads of folk to be there but only a few turned up to watch the cyclists pass through the village.
These two intrepid cyclists had cycled all the way from Fishguard and Pembroke Dock to Llangadog to cheer the cyclists on- and they were still smiling!
We could not believe how many police motorcyclists were needed to keep the rolling security moving. The police bikers were from all over..Durham/Northhumberland etc…
It was exciting waiting for the leading group to swarm through
The small leading group flashing through followed by numerous support vehicles
A few minutes later the bulk of the cyclists poured through with lots of splashing and cheering!
These cyclists were again followed by a huge assortment of support cars - all looking like alien machines with their extra bikes sitting on the car tops !
The last motor cyclist passed through and then it was all over and Llangadog went back to sleep.
