If you have read this blog before you will know that we always have wonderful visitors- and all of them have different ways of enjoying their holidays in this beautiful part of Carmarthenshire. Some enjoy: biking, walking, photography, painting, visiting gardens, castles, seasides , eating, chilling out…….. and last week we had a poet who left a lovely poem that I will share with you all.
Marianne and Jim have got a lovely place to let
So we went to Wales to stay there and enjoy it all- you bet!
We didn’t have good weather when we got there- very wet!
‘T’was the weekend when the Open Golf was played at Celtic Manor;
The golfers had to stay indoors like us- that put a spanner
In the works of all the organisers- not too bad for us-
We went down to the seaside with the minimum of fuss
On Monday it got better and we went to Aberglasney
Then Europe won the golf that day- so everyone was happy!
Tuesday was a lovely day- we went across to Gower
And walked across Rhossili Down in sunshine- not one shower!
To Aberaeron Wednesday and it was mostly dry
Dined at the Goose and Cuckoo where the standard’s very high.
And so our stay was ended and it’s Thursday -back to base-
We’ve packed up all our chattels in our rucksacks and our case-
Farewell, Lletty Cottage – a lovely memory to keep
In the garden all those bluetits, in the field four naughty sheep!!
