January 8th Winter Walk in the Botanic Gardens January 8, 2011

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon…a winter walk around the National Botanic Garden of Wales which is just about 25 minutes drive away and even better entry is free for the month of January!

View of the Great Glasshouse as you enter the gardens

Another view of the glasshouse as we walk by the still frozen river

Looking back at the gardens as we walk through the 'new' nature reserve

The moles are very organised in the gardens!

Paxton Tower in the distance

Looking back to the glasshouse from the top of the nature reserve

The gardens have some wonderful sculptures - this bull is awesome!

Back in the glasshouse

Tomorrow it’s Aberglasney again…can’t wait!

On Thursday new art sessions start with Wendy Powell-Jones

and looking forward to reading her article in the March 2011 edition of Leisure Painter on painting water…….it’s all go!

  1. Great pictures Marianne. I will certainly go myself this month if it stops raining!
