Llanwrda's oldest house.
This week the weather has been very changeable…this morning for instance we’ve had bright sunshine for ten minutes and now there’s a downpour…more like April than July! This has not deterred our lovely visitors in the cottage from getting out and enjoying all that is on offer in the area.
This week I went for a walk and talk around the local village Llanwrda- it was led by Richard Rees, a local resident who is very interested in all the local history of the area. He owns the garage whose frontage is dominated by the old original garage signs and many railway signs too.

We walked through the lanes to the river at the confluence of the Towy and the Dulais
The old mill in Llanwrda with a splendid mill wheel- kindly shown to us by the owners
I know chickens can fly but this is ridiculous!

Llanwrda is just 2 minutes drive from Lletty Cottage and has everything you need – a garage, a pub, a coffee shop and a fantastic Village shop with Post Office facilities.
The next walk and talk tour of Llanwrda led by Richard is in August . Details are in the local POST magazine- which deserves a blog all about it. The POST magazine is free – it contains details and information about everything going on the area- bus & train times, local events, opening hours of swimming pools , libraries etc….you name it and you’ll find it in the POST! Anyway the next walk is detailed in the POST and all are welcome to join in…residents and visitors.
