David and Jacqueline are wonderful cottagers and they return to Lletty Cottage year after year and it is always wonderful to welcome them back. This year the weather wasn’t too good for their holiday but as intrepid walkers and holiday makers nothing stops them getting out early in the morning and making the most of the walks, attractions and pleasures that this area provides.
They have sent two wonderful photographs of the waterfalls that they visited whilst here. They love waterfalls and trek high and low to see them . This year they returned to:
Sgwd Yr Eira Falls Ystradfellte, Powys
The curtain waterfall of Sgwd Yr Eira, (Fall of Snow), has been formed where the river Hepste leaps over a fifty foot cliff between high banks. Its main feature is a narrow path that leads behind the falls which is great fun to explore and look through the falling water. This track has been used by local sheep farmers for centuries. The falls are most spectacular when the river is in spate, after heavy rainfall the previous few days. There is a convenient car park nearby.

There are excellent websites to help visitors find out more about walks in the Brecon Beacons and particularly waterfalls:
www.walkscene.co.uk Brecon Beacons 4 Waterfalls Walk (near Ystadfellte)
Another great site is www.brecon-beacons.com (Lletty Cottage is on this site under self catering accommodation ) If you are looking for waterfalls type in Waterfall Country into their search box.
Thank you David and Jacqueline for mail and photos. Hope to welcome you back here next year!
