Sunday we made our annual visit to Showborough House Sculpture Garden http://www.showborough.com/. near the village of Twyning near Tewkesbury.
This is an amazing garden with all the sculptures arranged amongst the plants…it is a treat to wander through the garden and enjoy the artwork and creativity of the gardener and the artists.
After the walk around the garden one can stop off in the house and make your own coffee andc try the delicious cakes that are on offer. Such a great day out.

2012 opening times for the Affordable Garden Art Exhibition are:
Thursday 3rd May until Sunday 17th June,
on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays,
Opening hours 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m..
Group visits can be arranged at other times.
There is no entry charge but we do welcome donations.
There will be sculptures by over 60 sculptors. All sculptures will be for sale and priced at under £3000, most being under £1000 and some under £100. Exhibitors only contribute minimal commission to cover the direct costs of the exhibition so prices are competitive and artists benefit. Most sculptors come from Gloucestershire and surrounding counties but a few from much further away. The exhibition is designed to appeal to sculptors at the beginning of their careers, including students, although some well-established sculptors who price their work competitively do come.
The sculptures will all be entered in The Affordable Garden Art Competition. We are pleased that the competition is being judged this year by Caro Sweet. Caro works and teaches at her studio in Worcestershire. She has large and small works in many private collections but she is best known for her large public commissions in the United States.
There will be a small indoor exhibition of work by invited local artists, including Bronte Woodruff, Helen Crawford and Devon Brewer.
For a small charge tea, coffee and cold drinks are available, as well as biscuits and sometimes cake. There are many places for lunch within a few miles.
