November 30 Saturday Shopping in Llangadog November 30, 2014

Saturday is the day that we go to Llangadog. It’s a lovely village with all that one needs to  live happily in a rural area. There’s  a wonderful restaurant and pub, The Goose and Cuckoo- highly recommended, more pubs, a great local store with everything from fresh veg to fire lighters, an amazing butchers with a huge range of meat ( if you eat it!)   and fantastic farm eggs, a newspaper shop with all sorts of stationery requirements  and  the most friendly folk, who are always willing  to have a chat and natter. There is always something on in Llangadog and this Saturday there was an art and craft display in the pretty church, a craft sale in the Community  Hall, a carol sing-a-long on the Square and generally a very busy place indeed! To top it all at 11am the hunt arrived for a quick noggin outside  and inside The Castle.

Mike Sheridan upholsters period  furniture  with  Welsh fabric- the results are brilliant.

Crikey! who said living in the country is quiet!  What a Saturday and Wales won their rugby match in the afternoon too….a perfect ending to a very busy day!

Love your comments and photographs. I agree Llangadog is a wonderful place to visit and shop. We should all support our small villages. Well done Marianne
