You know I like visiting here, there and everywhere and keeping busy, busy, busy! Last week in the pouring rain we went to Carmarthen and took ‘a trip through Carmarthen’s creepy past’ on the Creepy Carmarthen Town Tour led by Nick. We met outside the Guildhall and spent the next two hours enchanted by Nick’s stories about the creepy goings on in the town’s history. To add to the interest there was a sprinkling of magic to keep all engaged and engrossed. A really enjoyable experience for all locals and visitors.
A day out in Llandysul was next on the list to visit the Powerhouse where an excellent art exhibition was taking place. Llandysul is a lovely town with a small range of interesting shops and cafés . Standing outside the Powerhouse was Dylan Thomas’s Touring Writing Shed! The Shed has been on a nationwide tour and this was the very last day it was being exhibited. It might end its days in St Fagans …who knows! The Shed was brilliant and it was ‘dressed’ inside to look just the same as the ‘real’ shed in Laugharne . The exhibition in the Powerhouse was most enjoyable to view with a range of paintings in different media , crafts, stained glass and metal work…..the Steampunk Hare really caught my eye!
Through the Power house window there was a stunning view of the river Tiefi being enjoyed by canoeists of all ages and abilities…great fun to watch and maybe another activity to add to my bucket list!!
