It’s that time of year again when gardeners open their gardens for charity (NGS). Everyone enjoys seeing other gardens rather than their own to gather in new ideas and, of course, sample the delicious teas that are usually on offer.
Last Sunday, I set off to Myddfai and just beyond the village found the beautiful garden of Gelli Mydog. It was a simply beautiful , sunny day and perfectly suited to walking round a hilltop garden with stunning views in every direction.
This was the first time the 2 acre garden set in 9 acre grounds had opened for the NGS. One of the many wonderful features in the garden was the newly completed stream side and pond gardens next to the buzzing wildlife meadow.
Together with the many attractions around the garden there was also the draw of seeing Keith and Moira from Cilgwyn Lodge Gardens selling their beautiful plants.
There were pretty places to sit , relax, unwind and enjoy the views and the beautiful flowers.
The gates will be open again into this magic garden on Sunday July 24 (12-5). I think I’ll have to visit again as the tea and cakes were as scrumptious as the garden!
